Another bird I have been trying for years to get decent photos of is the White-Breasted Nuthatch. They are quick and shy. This one seemed satisfied I wasn’t a threat as I stood close by the feeders last weekend. What a beauty. Another common and perhaps considered a plain bird, but look at the wonderful contrasting colors in it’s wings and head and the gorgeous rusty colors under it’s tail. The shape of it’s bill likely enables it to get between the bark of trees as it walks upside down along it’s trunk. I am hoping to get some shots of it’s smaller less common Red-Breasted cousin soon.
